ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

Ahmednagar College, the first and the oldest institution of Ahmednagar District. A premier institution of learning for traditional as well as new-age subjects, the name of the college is synonymous with Quality Education. Ahmednagar college opened the gates of Higher Education to the all types of the students irrespective of their caste, religion and race. The Department of Business Administration was established in the year 2005. Post Graduate Courses were started from 2009. The department of Business Administration has its course designed to give a broad knowledge of the functional aspects of a company and their interconnection, while also allowing for specialization in a particular area. B.B.A. programs expose students to a variety of "core subjects" and allow students to specialize in a specific academic area. The degree also develops the student's practical, managerial and communication skills, and business decision-making capability. Many programs incorporate training and practical experience, in the form of case projects, presentations, internships, industrial visits, and interaction with experts from the industry. Under the leadership of Principal Dr. R. J. Barnabas the department gained its rigor acclaim. Currently Dr.Tusita Iyer is working as a Coordinator and Head of the Department. The department of Business Administration is actively engaged in various activities with the help of students and faculty members. The commerce association is regularly arranging lectures related with trade, commerce, industry, management, taxation & global scenario. Eminent personalities, consultant’s resource persons were called for delivering the lecturers on related topics. Business Administration course provides adequate basic understanding about Management Education among the students. It prepares students to exploit opportunities being newly created in the Management Profession. It helps train the students in communication skills effectively. It develops appropriate skills in the students so as to make them competent and provide them self-employment, and inculcates Entrepreneurial skills.

About BBA The course of Bachelor in Business Administration has attracted enormous attention amongst the present generation. In the recent years, the course has been extensively developed in order to meet the high expectations of companies in both management of the business & human resources. That BBA course trains youngsters to develop into master managers shows the significance of this course. BBA is basically the study of Business Administration. This includes detailed study of the various aspects of business & management of business operations. The importance of BBA can be estimated easily by knowing the requirements to be a part of the corporate sector. To work in giant corporations is not very easy now-a-days. One needs to have highly specialized skills to manager various business operations. To gain these skills, one requires a through training- both theoretical & practical – which is what a degree course in BBA offers. BBA students are provided specialized training in various important sectors such as Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Marketing etc. All these fields are important in the field of business & therefore specializing in them is very important in order to be successful in the corporate world. Along with this, the course includes subjects like Communication Skills, Personality Development, Event Management, Industry Exposures etc. Which helps to develop theoretical & practical knowledge. It helps to improve the student’s confidence, command over the language, manners, etiquette which in turns develops their overall personality & prepares them in all sense for the competitive environment. Need of BBA The Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] course is fast emerging as the most sought-after Management undergraduate degree because it gives an early start to a rewarding Management career. It is considered as an essential qualification for entry into corporate world. It prepares the candidates to learn & develop business acumen & meet the challenges of middle-level management positions in public & private sectors. Apart from a successful start to career, there are tremendous growth opportunities with promotion to a job of higher responsibilities & of course compensation.

DEPARTMENT REPORT:


1.Orientation of F.Y.B.B.A.: – 02nd August, 2023 On 02nd August,2023 an orientation lecture was organized for FYBBA students and a brief introduction about college and department was given by Head Dr. Tusita Iyer. 69 Students were presented for the lecture. 2. Bridge Course. 03rd August,2023 to 10th August,2023 All the teachers conducted Bridge Course activity for F.Y.B.B.A Students for the students. Principles of Management-Prof.Nidhi Patel: - 65 students, Communication Skills-Prof. Trupti Khabiya: - 70 students, Business Accounting -Prof.Sapna Swamy: - 48 students, Business Mathematics -Prof. Shital Kulkarni: - 58 students, Business Economics -Prof.Harita Gandhi: - 33 students, Business Demography-Prof. Monika Khubchandani: - 58 students 3. Ice Breaking Activity.04th August,2023 For F.Y.B.B.A. students and ice breaking activity was conducted were they were able to 70 students participated actively in the activity. 4.Brain Treaser:-05th August,2023 For F.Y.B.B.A. students and brain teaser activity was conducted were they enjoyed drawing nature picture and 48 students participated actively in the activity 5. Webinar:-26th August,2023 Guest Lecture (Webinar) conducted on subject “Individual Investors and Investing Options for students” by Mr. Mahaveer Kaswa, where the basic topics on Investment, SIP, and mutual funds where discussed. 75 students participated actively in the webinar via zoom platform. 6. Fresher’s Function: 29th August,2023 The Department of Business Administration had organized an Induction program for the FYBBA students to welcome them into the journey of three years’ degree program. This event was organized by the SYBBA and TYBBA students together. The program was graced by Vice – Principal Dr. Noel Parge. 140 Students were actively present for the event. The results were as follows:- 1.Mr. Fresher – Ronit Muttha 2.Miss. Fresher – Harshita Rapriya 3.Best Smile – Sneha Kanojia 4.Best Attire – Akshada Pawar 5.Best Presence of Mind – Hammad Shaikh 7. Swalambi Bharat Abhiyan: - 06th September,2023 This program organized by Incubation Cell and student development association. Resource Person: - Mr. Nakul Chande and Mr. Amogh Gandhi. Students got the knowledge about How to start Business? How to run Business? They made awareness different schemes of government for businessman. 40 Students were actively present for the event. 8. Management Day: - 16th September,2023. On 16th Sept, 2023 Management Day “Students Day Out” was organized in Dept.Different types of games like – Add Mad Show, Team Building, Communication Games etc. were played to improve teamwork & communication skills & foster healthy competition. 43 students participated. 9.Memorandum of Understanding: - 27th September,2023. The Department of Business Administration Collaborated via Signing an Memorandum of Association with ARM Technocrats, an EV – Scooters (automobile) manufacturing concern on 27th September 2023. The MoU headlined around internship and training for the final year BBA students of all streams (Finance / Marketing / Human Resource). Parties involved with the underlying MoU are – Dr. R. J. On 30th September,2023 Ahmednagar College, Ahmednagar Gandhian Studies Center and Dept. of Political Science organizing 3 days’ lecture on Gandhian Thoughts, celebrating 155th Birth Annivers
